Fluff Up Your Throw Pillows

TLDR

Buy smaller pillow cases!

Fluff Up Your Throw Pillows

So, how can you indefinately fluff up your living room’s throw pillows? My girlfriend recently added “fix flat pillows” to her “honey do” list. To add to the dilemma, my dog decided to chew through one of our throw pillow’s cases or covers.

I honestly had no idea where to start on how to fluff up my throw pillows. Should I buy different pillows? Was it the type of pillow? Should I add more stuffing or something?

The Solution To Indefinately Fluffing Up Your Throw Pillows

Looking back, this should’ve been more obvious to me. BUY SMALLER PILLOW CASES. The credit completely goes to my partner who swore by her solution.

So, we initially picked up some 24×24 pillows from amazon. There’s nothing too fancy about them and the best thing was that a pack of 2 pillows was just under $25 bucks. Now, I want to highlight, these are throw pillows. They’re not super fancy sleeping pillows. I don’t think you’ll have much luck with them outside of using them as additional back support or for decoration in your living room or bed.

We then simultaneously picked up some pillow covers that matched our pillow’s size identically. I.E. we bought a couple of 24×24 cases shown to our left. The cases themselves were solid and did the job. But, they did feel a little empty. There wasn’t enough bounce to them, which is what led me down this path looking for a fluff solution.

Like we mentioned, the solution was to buy pillow cases that were about 4 inches smaller than our actual pillows. It does make putting the covers on a but tougher, but it wasn’t too much of a lift. One recommendation we can shoot your way is to make sure to match your pillows corners to the case corners or else you’ll have a chunky uncomfortable mess.

Could we have solved this problem any other way? Probably. I imagine there are higher quality pillows that are denser and fuller we could have initially purchased. But we don’t care too much about our throws and my dog just chews through these things. Rather than spend more on better pillows, I personally really love my partners solution.

We went down 4 inches to ensure fluffiness. I imagine you can just go down 2 inches to the next smallest case size if you’re not looking to have little bubbles of floof on your couch. But, what my partner prefers.
